His Dark Materials: Industry and Audience blog tasks

  Audience 1) Read this  audience rating guide for His Dark Materials . Based on the screening and this article, who do you think the target audience is for His Dark Materials and why? What about psychographic groups?  You can  revise Pyschographics here . Based on the screening  and the article i believe  the target audience is for families and teenagers. I believe this because the show as on BBC on a Sunday at 8.10pm and this means that they were not allowed to show certain things before 9pm as it would be inappropriate for younger people. it is also targeted at fans of the fantasy genre and fans who liked the original book. younger audiences may be appealed by the show as it has diverse representations of gender and race. HBO rated it for people aged 14+ due to some scenes being frightening to younger children, although season 2 of the show as rated 12+ by the BBFC.   2) What audience pleasures are offered by His Dark Materials - The City of Magpies? Apply Blumler and Katz's Use

OSP & Videogames: An introduction

  1) What were the first video games like? at first the video games where pixelated, basic and didn't have a big variety or colours. there wasn't much good graphics and couldn't play on multiple devices. the focused on one topic which was space and based mpost games around that theme. in 1983 there was the video game crash that nearly destroyed the american game industry. some of the games included: space war-1962, pong-1972, maze war-1974, break out-1976, space invaders-1978, pacman-1979. most games where like arcade games and were not that interesting.  2) How have video games changed over time? games evolved by starting of basic and not that detailed then to becoming more clear and improved graphics. they were also able to to make games more interesting and more detailed and then started out bringing out consoles and changing the dynamics.
